I am the department chair of the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Cebu Normal University, situated in Cebu, Philippines. I am teaching different courses in communication and journalism in the department. I am also handling a radio program on the local radio station in Cebu.

I am a faculty member specializing in journalism and communication, with extensive teaching experience in journalism, media, and communication studies. As a seasoned media practitioner, I worked as a newspaper and radio journalist in Cebu, Philippines, for more than 20 years, covering a wide range of public affairs, governance, community development, disasters, and social issues.

My professional experience bridges both academia and the media industry, allowing me to integrate real-world journalistic practice into the classroom while mentoring future communication professionals. My research and academic interests include journalism education, media ethics, journalist safety, media literacy, disaster communication, and community journalism.

I also serve on the Cebu Citizens-Press Council, representing the education sector. The Council is an independent multi-sectoral body based in Cebu City that serves as a forum for discussing media issues, addressing public grievances against the press, defending press freedom, and promoting responsible and professional journalism.

Through my work in both the academe and the media profession, I remain committed to advancing ethical journalism, strengthening media accountability, and fostering excellence in journalism and communication education in the Philippines.
